Job Summary Teach assigned classes and laboratory sections, and perform related activities to classroom instruction. This position is expected to primarily teach BIO-185, a one-semester Anatomy and Physiology course for students intending to pursue nursing/allied health careers. It is expected that the instructor will also be able to teach general education biology courses such as BIO-100 (Introductory Human Biology), BIO-103 (Introductory Life Science), and BIO-104 (Introductory Life Science Laboratory). Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.&nbsp; Additional related duties may be assigned. <ul><li>Plan course content and assign appropriate course work.</li><li>Select appropriate texts and teaching materials.</li><li>Revise course outlines, objectives, and catalog information as needed.</li><li>Meet classes at assigned times.</li><li>Instruct students in the proper use of lab equipment where appropriate.</li><li>Ensure that equipment and/or labs are properly maintained where appropriate.</li><li>Maintain supply and equipment inventory where appropriate.</li><li>Participate in formative and summative assessment of student learning.</li><li>Actively participate in course and program assessment in the biological sciences.</li><li>Maintain student records, evaluate student progress and assign grades.</li><li>Maintain office hours convenient for students.</li><li>Prepare course/class reports as required.</li><li>Submit budget requests and written narrative when appropriate.</li><li>Attend required meetings (faculty, division, in-service training, etc.)</li><li>Assist in short-term and long-term planning.</li><li>Participate in division, college, advisory committees, and community activities.</li><li>Demonstrate lifelong learning through the reading of latest research and journal articles.</li><li>Attendance and participation in conferences related to teaching area and membership in appropriate professional organizations is recommended.</li><li>Adhere to Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and any and policies or laws that govern higher education at Rock Valley College.</li><li>Assist in student program advisement.</li><li>Recruit students when appropriate.</li><li>Assist in placement of graduates when appropriate.&nbsp;</li></ul>Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Position Title: Truck Driver Training Instructor Department: Business Outreach Office (BUO) Division: Workforce Development (WOD) Employee Status: Part-time Group: N/A Grade: N/A $24.00 hourly day / $26.00 hourly night FLSA: N/A &nbsp; <h4>Reporting Relationships</h4>Reports to: General supervision is received from the Dean of Workforce Development&nbsp; <h4>Supervision Exercised: None.</h4>Job Summary Provide a variety of teaching/learning activities that prepare students for the class A-commercial driver's license (CDL) examination and an entry-level position in the trucking industry. &nbsp; Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Related duties may be assigned. &nbsp;<ul><li>Teach the classroom portion of the Truck Driver Training Program, including permits, logbooks, and trip planning.</li><li>Teach hands-on portion of the Truck Driver Training Program, including backing, shifting, and behind-the-wheel training.</li><li>Maintain student files in compliance with ICCB and IL Secretary of State standards.</li><li>Maintain Truck Driver Training Program equipment.</li><li>Monitor inventory of training supplies.</li><li>Evaluate and grade students throughout the program.</li><li>Provide maintenance on equipment in emergency situations.</li><li>Able to work on-call bases if the enrollment requires.</li><li>Regular attendance is expected.</li><li>Using tact and courtesy, the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with persons contacted in the course of work.</li></ul> &nbsp; Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
