Howmet Engines has an immediate opening for a Maintenance Technician-Mechanic&nbsp;to assist in the maintenance process at our facility in Rochester, NY. Basic Functions: Work in a fast-paced manufacturing facility to assist install, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, physical structures, and pipe and electrical systems in commercial or industrial establishments by performing the following duties. Responsibilities: <ul><li>Perform routine preventative maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and the physical condition of the building does not deteriorate: <ul><li>Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment</li><li>Listen for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discuss machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance technicians to diagnose the problem or repair the machine</li><li>Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, and perform other maintenance actions, following checklists</li><li>Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery</li></ul></li><li>Troubleshoot and repair various aspects of production machinery, including saws, hydraulic presses and associated forging equipment: &nbsp; <ul><li>Repair and replace mechanical components and assemblies, including install of forging dies and fixtures, bearing assemblies, chains, belts and sliding component wear plates</li><li>Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair electrical issues, from control power (transforms, power supplies, contactors, relays, motor starters and overloads) to 480V distribution and motors</li><li>Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair hydraulic issues including loss of system pressures, cylinder actuation, pump or valve leaks or malfunctions; replace hydraulics pumps, motors, cylinders valves and other associated components</li><li>Plan and lay out repair work using diagrams, drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals, and schematic diagrams</li><li>Align and balance new equipment after installations</li></ul></li><li>Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices</li><li>Operate cutting torches or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts</li><li>Operate overhead cranes and hoists, forklifts, scissor and boom lifts</li><li>Maintain a safe and organized workstation and follow all Company policies, safety, and procedures</li><li>Record maintenance and repair work performed</li></ul> Basic Qualifications:&nbsp; <ul><li>High school diploma or GED is required</li><li>3-5 years of experience</li><li>Ability to calculate figures and amounts and apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry</li><li>Must be able to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form</li><li>Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.&nbsp;</li><li>Must be certified to operate a forklift and man lift to all approved OSHA and Howmet standards.&nbsp;</li></ul> <ul><li>Salary Range: $21/hr. for temporary employment, increase if hired. &nbsp;This position is eligible for a $1,000 sign-on bonus if hired</li></ul> About Howmet Aerospace Howmet Aerospace Inc.
