<dt><h4>Description</h4></dt> The City of Irvine seeks a passionate and motivated individual to join the Irvine Police Department’s Technology and Innovation Team as a Public Safety Technology Analyst.&nbsp;This is a continuous recruitment and interested applicants should submit their application as soon as possible. The Public Safety Technology Analyst will be responsible for evaluating, integrating, and maintaining the technology and software used by public safety.&nbsp;This position will plan, direct and administer the development, maintenance, and user support for automated systems within the public safety department. This includes Computer Aided Dispatch, Records Management, mobile reporting systems, in-vehicle networks and systems, and other public safety related systems. The work is performed under the direction of the Public Safety Technology Administrator. &nbsp; This position will be an integral part of a team which is heavily reliant on technology to perform their daily duties. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who will plan, evaluate, and administer public safety technology and systems for the Irvine Police Department (IPD). This is a fast-paced dynamic environment that provides an opportunity to implement critical lifesaving technology and solve complex problems to keep IPD as an industry leader of public safety innovation.&nbsp; Effective the pay period that includes July 1, 2025, all employees covered by this position's Agreement shall be provided with an additional one and one-half percent (1.5%) base salary increase. This will be in addition to the previously approved and currently planned base salary increase of three and one-half percent (3.5%) that has already been scheduled to take effect for the pay period including July 1, 2025, for a total of five percent (5%) base salary increase. The bottom of the range will move up five percent (5%) commensurate with this change. Effective the pay period including July 1, 2026, the salary range for each classification covered under this agreement shall be increased by five percent (5%).&nbsp;The bottom of the range will move up five percent (5%) commensurate with this change. Effective the pay period including July 1, 2027, the salary range for each position covered under this agreement shall be increased by five percent (5%).&nbsp;The bottom of the range will move up five percent (5%) commensurate with this change. Your Impact <ul><li>Plan, develop, and ensure successful completion of public safety technology projects.</li><li>Troubleshoot technical issues and ensure operational effectiveness of technology.</li><li>Collaborate effectively with all levels of staff and department stakeholders to assess technology needs and set priorities.</li><li>Commitment to staying updated on emerging technologies and industry best practices to drive innovation and improve public safety operations.</li><li>Find additional information in the Public Safety Technology Analyst job description.</li></ul> &nbsp;Best Fit&nbsp; <ul><li>Strong problem-solving ability to identify solutions to complex problems.</li><li>Knowledge of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework and understanding of Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) methodology.</li><li>Proven ability to independently manage complex implementation projects on time and within budget. Knowledge of public safety operations, emergency response systems, and relevant regulations (CJIS).&nbsp;</li><li>Three years of progressively responsible experience in the administration, analysis and design of application systems, including network systems or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities.</li></ul> Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in information management systems, computer science, systems analysis, or a related field and three years progressively responsible experience in the analysis and design of application systems, including network systems or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities. &nbsp; &nbsp;Highly Desirable Qualifications: Experience and knowledge directly related to the analysis and design of public safety applications, including network systems, experience with MS SQL servers and database management. Knowledge of Computer Aided Dispatch, Records Management and Automated Field Reporting systems.
