Description Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Department Manager to work in our Advanced Technology of Molten Salts department. Our team works a 9x80 schedule located out of our Idaho Falls facility with every other)) Friday off. The Advanced Technology of Molten Salts Department develops and advances molten salt technologies to successfully demonstrate, license, and deploy first of a kind molten salt reactors and develop clean energy molten salt technologies aimed at transforming the World’s energy future and promoting INL as a leader in carbon-free, sustainable energy technologies. Responsibilities Include: <ul><li>Hire, mentor, and promote department staff.</li><li>Apply department resources to support division, directorate, programmatic and Laboratory missions.</li><li>Work with program leads, relationship managers, and other department managers to identify and support new and expanded technical programs and projects for the department.</li><li>Hold staff accountable for performance of assigned responsibilities as well as ensure internal and external recognition of staff achievements.</li><li>Implement decisions and policies for the department according to INL policy, e.g., staffing, organization, merit allocations, promotions, discipline, awards and recognition, professional development, indirect budgets, business development, customer relations and projects, and internal and external interfaces.</li><li>Implement approved department/program level plans and budgets.</li><li>Approve self-assessment plans and other standard approval authorities (such as time charges, travel, expenses).</li><li>You will report to the Division Director.</li></ul>Qualifications Minimum Requirements:&nbsp; <ul><li>Degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry or closely related discipline with commensurate experience in the nuclear enterprise: BS and 12+ years of experience, MS and 8+ years of experience, or PhD and 6+ years of experience. Advanced degree strongly preferred.</li><li>5 years of experience with molten salts R&amp;D.</li><li>Evidence of increasing leadership experience demonstrating effective skills in recruiting, developing and managing engineers and/or scientists.</li><li>Experience performing or managing research related to molten salts, such as salt characterization, remote equipment development, and/or high-temperature chemical engineering.</li><li>Knowledge of INL research capabilities and facilities is preferred.</li><li>Must be able to work in a culturally diverse environment.</li><li>This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "Q" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.&nbsp;</li></ul> Job Information:&nbsp; <ul><li>The target pay range for this position is $150,672.00- $222,078.00 annually. The full pay range is $103,032.00- $262,740.00.
