Position Purpose: Work is performed in industrial settings including: assembly plants, metal fabrication plants, refineries, and power train plants. Collect, sort and transport disposables and recyclables including: trash, hazardous waste, scrap metal and other waste streams throughout a facility to designated container and location. Primary Duties/Responsibilities: <ul><li>Perform job duties in a safe manner compliant with policies, procedures and practices.</li><li>Maintain a safe, neat and clean work environment this includes: work area, equipment, locker rooms, break rooms, and office areas.</li><li>Model professional behavior at all times; report to work as scheduled, on time and prepared to work.</li><li>Collect trash, recyclables and hazardous waste from various locations throughout the facility.</li><li>Breakdown scrap parts for repair or recycling.</li><li>Transport waste/recyclables to disposal container and/or storage location.</li><li>Load semi-trailers and roll-off boxes for shipment to landfill or recycling center.</li><li>Maintain storage areas, and drum pads in accordance to regulations.</li><li>Document and inform the manager or designated person of any contamination in recycling containers.</li><li>Complete reports and documentation correctly and submit timely as directed.</li><li>Participate in meetings to access the work environment for safety and effectiveness.</li><li>Operate equipment safely and compliant with policies including: fork-trucks, tuggers, and transport carts.</li><li>Perform preventive maintenance (PM) and safety checks on mobile equipment before and after operating; report any defects appropriately and timely.</li><li>Demonstrate a commitment to learning and development; stay current of safe work practices, policies and regulations.</li><li>Work effectively in a team environment and provide support and assistance to others.</li><li>Commitment to promoting and creating a safety culture and positive work environment.</li><li>Perform other job duties as requested to support the business operations.</li></ul> Work Environment: Must be able to work in loud, cold, hot, wet, and dry environments. Qualifications Education/Experience/Background: <ul><li>High School diploma or GED.</li><li>Experience operating a forklift or similar equipment desired.</li></ul> Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: <ul><li>Able to read and understand instructions in English.</li></ul> Required Certification/Licenses/Training: <ul><li>Must have a valid driver's license.</li><li>Successfully complete drug screen and pre-employment physical, safety sensitive background check.</li></ul> Physical Requirements: <ul><li>Push/pull and frequently lift and carry up to 40 lbs.</li><li>Manual dexterity to manipulate small hand tools, pick up and sort small parts.</li><li>Lift, carry, push or pull equipment of various size, shape, and weight.</li><li>Able to sit periodically and for extended periods of time, climb ladders/stairs, reach below knees and above shoulders, kneel and crawl to access work areas.</li><li>Frequent standing, walking, bending, and stooping, able to reach forward and grasp equipment</li><li>Ability to balance and walk on wet and slick surfaces, metal grates, narrow platforms, and uneven surfaces.</li></ul> Additional Information We are an Equal Opportunity Employer!
