The Defects Coordinator is a first shift position within Plant 4, Thermatech Coatings Operation and will be responsible for: <ul><li>Focus on improving efficiency of engineering’s review of casting(s) with defects.</li><li>Have daily interaction with engineering (product, process, quality engineer) and manufacturing resources.</li><li>Involve some review and characterization of defects in castings.</li><li>Assist in daily management of defective casting inventory as parts flow through the engineering review process.</li></ul> Basic Qualifications: <ul><li>High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.</li><li>Minimum of two years’ experience working in an engineering or manufacturing environment.</li><li>Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.&nbsp; Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.&nbsp; Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.</li></ul> Preferred Qualifications <ul><li>Associate Degree in a manufacturing, industrial, mechanical technology, or science field from an accredited institution.</li><li>Able to work in a self-directed or team environment and have good organization and problem-solving skills.</li><li>Familiarity with blueprints.</li><li>Good oral and written communication skills.</li><li>Experience in Microsoft Office.</li></ul> Howmet Aerospace Inc. Howmet Aerospace, Engines, is currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team!&nbsp; This position will play an important role in the Airfoils segment to deliver solutions supporting Hoshin imperative to develop critical capabilities. The Advanced Project Management Specialist will support the development and lead the acquisition of solutions that require capital investment resulting in value creation when implemented.&nbsp; These solutions will deliver projects defined by the Hoshin including Vertically Integrated Equipment Design. This position will also institute a repeatable project milestone process to ensure capability, affordability, stakeholder alignment, quality, and speed. Position can be located at any US Engines plant with preference given to Whitehall, MI location Essential Functions: <ul><li>Provide project management and support to develop, acquire and implement the delivery of solutions to develop Critical Capabilities defined by the segment. The position provides the conduit, primarily, between Advance Manufacturing and Procurement as well as engaging stakeholders in Operation, and Plants – driving the Team of Teams connection.</li><li>Institute early involvement in Hoshin driven projects, including development of deliverables, product assessments, supplier assessments, and team development</li><li>Lead the development and maintenance of the supply base, identify projects and sourcing approach, and, commercial alignment with Procurement and Finance.</li><li>The position will participate in development of solutions that follow a repeatable process.&nbsp;Elements of this process include stakeholder alignment, supplier evaluation (quality, delivery, and financial), change control, project target development and delivery, production performance, and project financial, operational, and delivery milestones</li><li>Key deliverable is the performance of the solution after implementation including quality, safety, delivery, and cost.</li><li>Position will also support current projects; supplier and equipment performance; and institute spares and repair programs through the establishment of systems mentioned above.</li><li>Project manage entities to complete milestones covering:&nbsp; Project Start, Proposal Development, Project approval, Development and Launch Project, Run Off and Run at Rate with suppliers, On-site Commissioning, Production Verification, and Project Verification/Validation</li><li>Aid with contracts with selected providers that meet Howmet legal/compliance, price, and cash flow requirements.</li></ul> &nbsp;Major activities/key challenges <ul><li>Develop a project plan and develop team to deliver solution</li><li>Deliver Project on time</li><li>Deliver on milestone goals and objectives</li><li>Align and secure approval of scope and deliverables with stakeholders/key influencers</li><li>Manage change control through the process</li><li>Establish DMS Goals for year 1 of production:&nbsp; Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Price</li><li>Final Project Evaluation - 1 year after start of production</li></ul> Minimum Qualifications <ul><li>Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution &nbsp;</li><li>Minimum 3 years experience in project management, procurement, or manufacturing environment</li><li>Basic understanding of Procurement, Compliance, and Project Management Skills</li><li>Previous experience and knowledge of equipment, process design, and implementation</li><li>Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
